I wanted to share a super special post with you all this evening! A few days ago Lu and I seriously had the best day! I decided to stay mostly "unplugged" all day and just hang out with my best friend. Best decision ever. We had a blast! The day started with snow, she ran down the stairs and stood in front of the window begging to go out...we ate breakfast first, then played. We made messes (hence all the different clothing) , broke our favorite Santa mug :( and made more messes. Played in the snow, had visitors, played in the snow, had lunch, and played in the snow.. I mean what is more fun for a kid than building snowmen and snow forts in the snow. It was so nice to be able to just capture her all day, but by the end of the day she was done...put her hands over her face and said "no more takin' pictures Mommy"
Don't forget to cherish the little things.

Because every girl loves pink bubble baths | Noblesville, Indiana children's photographer
So yesterday Lu and I had an adventurous day at the museum and then ended up at the mall finishing up a little Christmas shopping aka I really wanted to go to the Lush store. Somehow this kid talked me into a $10 bubble bar, but it was pink and it was a star and it was on a stick so how could I say no, right? We finished shopping and couldn't wait to get home to bathe in a bath of pink paradise. Needless to say it was awesome and it smelled good too. In fact my entire house smells amazing. I didn't expect to buy such a luxurious bath bar for my kid, but I mean look at this face...it was worth it plus I got some cute pictures out of it so I am happy ;)

Oh what a night, 2013 | Noblesville, Indiana couples photographer
So last year I decided to do a night shoot, meaning at dark...complete dark. I decided I wanted to only use the light of candles, fire etc...It was intense. In a dark abandoned barn, that I did have permission to shoot at ;) Only lit by candles...shout out to my amazing assistant last year Megan haha!
This year I decided to do another one! Funny that it's like 20 degrees out and we are under a winter storm warning when I decide to do these things. Seriously considering 2014's session will be in the summer!
Needless to say...it was cold. It was really cold. But it was so fun and so totally worth the discomfort, well for me at least. Shout out to this years amazing assistant Courtney! This year I decided to try a little something different and used an extra source of lighting, although it was quite challenging actually because of shadows.
We laughed.
We cursed.
We lit smoke bombs.
We gaged from the fire smoke.
We froze.
Most of all we had fun.
I encourage you all to step outside your comfort zone this week and do something totally opposite of what you are used to and just take whatever mother nature gives you!
I will leave you with some images from the shoot!
Happy winter.
